Custom Point of Purchase Displays: Best Practices
Be Bold
Your POP display should be more than eye- catching; it should be attention demanding. Bold colors, custom shapes, large fonts – the bigger and more unique, the better.
Make it Interactive
People are more likely to engage with a retail display if it asks them to engage. Include a QR code, touch screen, tear-off coupons, business card drop box, even interactive games. Anything that gets people to actively engage with a display is a good one.
Don't Forget the Copy
Bold visuals and interactive design are crucial, but that doesn't mean you can neglect the text. As with all advertising, your POP display's copy should emphasize a product's benefits rather than features (“saves time” is better than “goes fast”). Copy should be personal and include emotional appeals. Most importantly, copy should include a call to action: “Take One,” “Buy Now,” “Pull Here,” or anything else that makes a demand. Most consumers probably think they’re too savvy for something so simple, but research suggests the opposite.
